LOTF Journal Entry #3
The them I chose out of the segment I got was that isolation from civilization can cause you to develop animal like instincts. Jack starts to walk on all fours, oddly enough, and Golding starts to almost make him seem like an animal in which foreshadows to later. With him having an almost ferocious look in his eyes. Later in the book he also starts to lose all sense of common sense, and starts to rely a lot more on instinct.

LOTF Journal Entry #2
I think the book would have been much more interesting if it had both girls and boys. The reason I think this is because the emotions of both of them (especially at their age) are so different. There world probably have been a lot more tension than in the original. Maybe even they would have teamed up and had a girls vs. boys war. It definitely would have been a much more different book if it had both genders, but I think it was interesting to have it just be guys because of they can interact.
